Earth Hour oli menestys

Osallistuimme tempaukseen kokonaisvaltaisesti; käänsin kotimme päävirtakytkimen 0-asentoon tunnin ajaksi. Jempsu nukahti samoihin aikoihin ja istuimme sitten kullan kanssa takkahuoneessa kynttilänvalossa. Mukava oli lämpimän takan napsumista kuunnella ja jutella niitä näitä.

Globaalisti earth hour onnistui hienosti - esimerkiksi Torontossa sähkönkulutus laski 264 MW tempauksen aikana ja Chigacon ja Pohjois-Illinoisin alueella havaittiin 5% vähennys (537 MW) sähkönkulutuksessa.

Juoksun osalta viikko 13 ja maaliskuu paketissa; 52.2 km / 279.7 km. Kuntopyörällä tein yhden harjoituksen - 52.9 km. Nyt lepäillään ja se iso kisahan on jo kohta... Starttihetkeen aikaa 5pv 18h. Matkalaukut kaivoin jo esille - pikkuhiljaa aletaan pakkailla.

Lehdistötiedotteen mukaan osallistujia onkin 37 000!

"Among the 37 000 competitors enlisted, 16.4% are women and 94 nationalities will be present. Close to 10 000 foreigners (30% of the competitors) including 2 994 English, 1070 Italians, 895 Germans, 785 Americans and 660 Belgians will be on the start line. (...)"

Concerning the French, the best chance looks to be in the hands, or legs of James Theuri (2h14’05), who will have the mission to follow the leading group as far out as possible to hope for glory.
